Product DescriptionSelected from Spurgeon’s lifetime work of over 3,500 sermons, this volume features sermons on more than twenty women of the Old and New Testaments—the pious, the faithful, the notorious, the broken. Here you will discover that women such as Esther, Sarah, Rahab and Hannah are much like you in their desire for faith, their relationship struggles, their daily pressures and doubts, and their growing trust in a loving God. Gently updated for the modern reader, Spurgeon’s words are as rich and nourishing as they were more than a century ago. So let him introduce you to the complex, passionate, and very real women of the Bible—as you’ve never known them before.
Reviews“Spurgeon’s Sermons...is full of orthodox doctrinal
theology. He stays true to the Word of God. I
recommend that all Christians, especially those that
love it when the Word of Truth is handled rightly, add
this to their libraries.”

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834–1892) served for 30 years at the Metropolitan Tabernacle in London. It is estimated that during his lifetime he spoke to 10 million people, and he became known as the “Prince of Preachers.” His works fill over 60 volumes; and more than a century after his death, his sermons and devotional texts continue to challenge and touch Christians and non-Christians alike with their biblical grounding, eloquent text, and simple encouragement. Among his published books are Lectures to My Students (Hendrickson); The Treasury of David (Hendrickson), a devotional commentary on the Psalms; All of Grace, the first Christian pocket-paperback published in the United States; numerous volumes of topical sermon collections; and the best-selling Morning and Evening. |
