Sir Fred Catherwood is a retired industrialist with deep experience in the political arena. He chaired the UK National Economic Development Council from 1963–1971. In 1979 he was elected Member of the European Parliament for Cambridgeshire, and served as Vice President of the European Parliament from 1989–1992.
