More stories of faith, family, and fun in the ongoing Elsie Dinsmore series Enter the world of Elsie Dinsmore! Christian values, innocent romance, family fun, and lasting lessons have captivated generations of girls eager to follow Elsie’s life from childhood to motherhood and beyond. Books 19–23 chronicle the adventures of Elsie’s whole family.
Elsie at Home, Volume 22: Elsie’s family continues to grow and change, embracing both new life as well as death. Evelyn’s mother, Laura Leland, is very ill with consumption; brothers Arthur and Calhoun Conley both become fathers. Rosie Travilla and Will Croly tie the knot, as do long-time bachelor Dick Percival and Maud Dinsmore. There is also another proposal in store . . . !
Martha Finley (1828–1909), the daughter of a Presbyterian minister, was a school teacher and author of numerous articles, essays, and books, the most well-known being the 28 volumes of her Elsie Dinsmore series. Turning to writing stories for young people as a means of supporting herself after a serious injury, Finley sold more books than any other children’s author of her day, with the exception of Louisa May Alcott.
